Do I Need a Referral?
You don’t need a referral to see a psychologist. Many people simply decide to make an appointment themselves, without visiting their GP or obtaining a referral from a health professional. However, you need to visit your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician to obtain a referral if you wish to obtain the Medicare Rebate (note that rebates are not available for telephone consultations).

Our practices are located at St Leonards and Mosman, both in Sydney.

The ST LEONARDS office is located at Suite 301, Level 3, 118 Christie Street in St Leonards, Sydney. The building is a short 5-minute walk from St Leonards train station on the lower North Shore.

If you are travelling from the City you can take either a train or bus, both of which typically take 20-25 minutes. The nearest bus stop is a short 5-minute walk from the practice on the Pacific Highway just before St Leonards train station.

St Leonards is 25 minutes drive from Sydney Airport and 40 minutes by train.

Metered parking is generally available just outside the practice. There are also some 1-2 hour non-metred parking options in the streets north of the practice (e.g., Northcote Street), approximately a 5-10 minute walk away.

The MOSMAN office is within the Avenue Road Medical Practice at 90 Avenue Rd Mosman, Sydney. Mosman is on Sydney’s lower north shore and is approximately 15 minutes from Sydney CBD by car, or 25 minutes by bus. A taxi from the city costs about $30. There is ample parking in the streets around the practice.

If you are travelling from the City you can catch a ferry to 'Mosman Bay' and then walk (15 minutes) or catch a bus (5 minutes) directly up Avenue Road. All buses from the ferry terminal pass by the front of the practice. Alternatively, from the city you can catch bus #247 from Carrington Street (stand #4) opposite Wynyard Station to the corner of Military Road and Avenue Road in Mosman (22 minutes) and then walk down Avenue Road to the practice (5 minutes).
